RE: Mac Owners

I'm in the process of switching to Apple and am wondering about iMac vs Macbook. How much moving around with temp and environmental changes will a iMac take vs Macbook. I know a Macbook can support a larger monitor so screen size isn't an issue when used on a table. Are there any other issues an iMac will have when used both on the road and at home vs Macbook? thanks

RE: Honda towing

Follow up x 2. Remco got back to me again and stated the manual tranny is splash lubed and doesn';t care if the wheels turning the output shafts, is from the car engine powering the wheels or the the motion of the motorhome causing the shafts to splash lube the tranny as long as the tranny is in neutral and I "can take that to the bank".

RE: Honda towing

A follow up on Acura towing. Wrote Remco and they wrote me and flat out said all front wheel drive manual tranny cars can be flat towed. I would like to believe them but doubt they would pay the repair if something happened. I did stop an my local tranny shop that has been around for years and they could think of no specific reason a manual tranny Acura or Honda couldn't be flat towed but deferred to the manufacturers recomendations. So here I am still deciding.

Honda towing

Honda says newer Honda/Acura cars can't be towed 4 down even with a manual trans. I got the story from Honda USA that their reasoning is that at todays higher sustained speeds too much heat builds up and cooks the trans. OK,I get that for an automatic but a manual just freewheels in neutral, how much heat can build up? We are dedicated Honda people and are frustrated.

RE: Loudness of deisel engine

Like it or not we live in a crowded world and it will only get worse. The idea of turning your rv around so the exhaust points in the oposite direction is a good idea, so is building a noise barrier, something like they have along freeways made of wood that could also be aa arbor for plantings. Hideing something as big as an rv isn't practical so it will in her eyes detract from the residential look. Telling her to shove it is like some of the "campers" we meet in parks that seem to feel they can do anything anytime because they paid the cost of admission. We are all trying to share space in this world and in the ever more crowded campgrounds, in an ideal world you could have a sitdown with her and reach a compromise, maybe a storage area when you aren't using it?Been there done that.

RE: CELL PHONE INTERNET ACCESS

Ok, I've read everything on this thread on hooking up and am ready to get started. I've got a Mac book pro laptop and am shopping for a wireless provider and plan. We travel all over the USA and Canada in a motorhome. What would be our best bet to stay in touch as far as equipment and service provider? Speed is a secondary consideration, coverage being # 1. Something in a cell type connection, air card, external antenna, amplifier, etc. Thanks.

RE: Plumbing problem in 06 Zephyr

I have an Aqua Hot system and it sounds like the incoming and outgoing lines to the Aqua hot got reversed when they were blown out. When I winterize my system I go from the city water input and blow thru from there with low pressure air till lines are dry. I have stirred up some sediment and plugged the filters at the spout though. You should be able to tell if the lines are backwards by feeling the cold input to the aqua hot while on city water and it should be cold. Just replaced a friends water heater that had that problem.

RE: I'm not in hot water.

I fixed a similar problem in a mobile home a couple years ago. I disconnected the hot line at each faucet and then turned the water on with the pipe end in a bucket and found all sorts of******in the line that had accumulated in the connection to the faucet. You may have to blow the faucet back to clear the faucet body too. If you can though the first thing is to see if water is coming from the hot side of the WH at the heater.

You can get fittings for pex pipe ar HD or Menards or most any big hardware store. You maybe want to check for any wayer that may be keeping the electrical connections wet too.
